We’ve been working hard on Northern Burn 2025 and unfortunately, we’ve encountered some unexpected hurdles along the way. After many thoughtful discussions, we’ve decided not to move forward with our original plans for a 200-person event this year.
We are instead going to host a North UnBurn at a smaller site (less peoples) to create a 100% volunteer/contributor burn event. Directed invites have gone to all artists, volunteers and theme camps who have already put their names forward. You can express your interest in attending by filling in the volunteer form or the projects registration form (bringing art or activities to share is a form of volunteering). North UnBurn will have the same dates as originally planned: 24-27 April. This location is just 15 minutes out of Whangārei.
Ticket costs are based on the costs to run the event. All funds from ticket sales go toward running the event, such as site rental, physical infrastructure, and project grants. No staff are paid. All organising volunteers also purchase tickets just like anyone else.
Tickets are currently being allocated to volunteers, artists bringing interactive works to share, and theme camps offering activities. Tickets are being offered on a rolling basis as we confirm space availability.
